Hidden jam on the near south side. Great food at decent prices. Always went there when I lived nearby. Now I live north. So whenever I visit family I make it a point to stop there. I also recommend the Italian ice. Many different flavors and you can mix and match. And conveniently located right of the Dan Ryan expressway.
Their Italian ice is amazing! so refreshing and flavorful. My favorite are the lemon, pineapple, and cucumber lime. yummm
I just returned from friend’s house and walking to my house while feeling hungry this place just happened to be nice. I ordered a sandwich and garlic bread. Both were delicious and would love to come back. While leaving I even got drink on the table. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Neighborhood staple. Delicious Italian Ice! (FYI Cash only at this window) Refreshing and flavorful with real fruit! Not watered down melted ice. Unlike over-rated Taylor Street there are NO ignorantly long lines. Friendly, fast service with a smile here. Also has outdoor seating and parking lot. Other food available for order inside.
Went on Saturday around 3. Right off the highway. Easy parking. Steady flow of customers but quick. Daughter got the American sub. Loved it. Friend got the meatball sub and said the sauce was so good. I got the beef and onion rings. Huge portion and good. We tried mango, lemon, watermelon and cantalope Italian ice. It's so good. Definitely worth the stop. Vanessa helped us and she was great. Even told us how to transport next time we come and want a big batch. Go. You won't be disappointed.
I got the Italian beef, fries, and some Italian ice. The ice tasted delicious and was pretty fairly priced. They have a lot of flavors that I'm interested to try. The fries were good. The Italian beef was also pretty good. Not amazing, but good enough that I might come back. I felt that the portions were pretty large for the price, and everything was a decent value. My only complaint is that I had to wait a bit for the beef, and they don't seem to have online ordering, so I couldn't order ahead. I'll see if I can call it in next time.

Feeling sick today. I came in and ordered the homemade chicken noodles soup. It's perfect. I feel better now.
I've only had their Italian ice here but it is delicious! Very refreshing, light, soft, and flavorful. I highly recommend stopping by here for one. They do serve food here as well which I've heard decent things about. The place itself has an outside patio for Chicago summer days and an inside that isn't that big. It's a classic building overall. Our cashier was okay.
Love Ferro's! Their Italian ice is some of the best in Chicago! I love the pineapple and watermelon mix - so good on a warm summers day!
